Brisbane City Council coordinates paid four-week placements with Brisbane businesses through its International Internship Program. Student applications for the 2027 intake are officially due to open in October 2026. Placements match participants’ studies and experience with host business needs and include workplace supervision. Requirements
- Degree type: Undergraduate degree or higher, final year
- Working rights: Domestic: Australian citizen/PR, culturally diverse background with parent born overseas. International: valid student visa, SisterCity origin/residence>12months, IELTS6.5 or PTE59–64.
- Eligibility: Student / early career; final-year undergraduate or higher at institution in Brisbane LGA; reside in Brisbane LGA; programme cultural/SisterCity conditions; previous participants ineligible Degree requirements: Undergraduate degree or higher; final year International students: yes
