California notice

Supplemental disclosures for California residents regarding the data CaseCrest collects and how to exercise state privacy rights.

Effective date: 31 December 2025

This California notice supplements the CaseCrest Privacy Policy and applies solely to California residents, as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and related regulations.

1. Categories of Information

We collect the personal information described in the Privacy Policy, including identifiers, academic and professional data, submission content, usage metrics, and communication records.

2. Purpose of Collection

Information is processed to operate competitions, provide platform functionality, improve services, generate analytics and benchmarks, and meet legal obligations.

3. Disclosure of Information

We may disclose personal information to organisers, judges, service providers, and partners that support competition operations. We do not sell personal information, and we only share it as permitted by California law.

4. Your Rights

  • Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected.
  • Right to request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of certain data sharing where applicable.
  • Right to be free from discrimination for exercising CCPA rights.

5. Submitting Requests

California residents can submit requests by emailing support@casecrest.org. We may verify your identity before processing requests and may deny requests where verification fails or an exception applies.

6. Metrics and Updates

CaseCrest tracks request volumes and outcomes as required by the CCPA. This notice will be updated when material changes to our data practices occur.
