Overview
The Treasury develops policy affecting Australia's economy and financial system. It has confirmed that applications for the 2028 Graduate Development Program will open in February 2027. The published programme runs for two years, with three eight-month rotations across policy areas such as taxation, financial services, market conduct, foreign investment and economic analysis. Most graduates are based in Canberra. Participants receive a salary, development workshops, mentoring and opportunities to nominate later rotations. The general programme welcomes graduates from several disciplines and values analytical and communication skills. Detailed eligibility on the application page still refers to 2027; its qualification and citizenship cut-off dates have not been applied to 2028.
