Overview

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is the public agency responsible for New Zealand’s land transport system. Its Emerging Professionals Programme offers permanent employment and a two-year rotation programme focused on each graduate’s area of study. Graduates receive mentoring, regular learning sessions and professional development while contributing to the agency’s work, which spans transport investment, planning, licensing and road safety. The agency has confirmed recruitment for its 2028 cohort will open in early 2027 and currently accepts expressions of interest. Applicants must hold or be completing at least a bachelor’s degree, have a minimum B average and meet the published recent-graduate requirements. Individual streams, workplace locations and exact application dates have not yet been announced.
