Overview
The Australian Government Department of Finance advises on public finances, budgets and commercial matters. Its 2028 graduate recruitment is officially scheduled for March and April 2027, with employment beginning in February 2028. Graduates join as ongoing APS3 employees in Canberra and complete ten months of development, including two five-month rotations, mentoring and a major project. Work can involve budget analysis, policy costings, financial frameworks, procurement, assets and risk. The programme concludes in December 2028, followed by continuing employment. Applicants need a recent undergraduate qualification and Australian citizenship, and must obtain NV1 security clearance. Accounting and Financial Management applicants can nominate Finance through the central graduate stream.
