Overview

The Australian Government Graduate Program recruits university graduates through specialist pathways and matches successful applicants with participating Commonwealth departments and agencies. The Indigenous Graduate Pathway offers work involving public sector projects with opportunities to contribute to matters affecting First Nations people. Graduates gain experience of government work and develop professional skills with support from their placement agency. The official APS Jobs directory announces that applications for this pathway will open on 1 March 2027. It represents a distinct recruitment stream, with one application considered across participating agencies. Exact closing dates, future intake commencement and placement-specific conditions have not been confirmed. Some detailed stream information still refers to earlier recruitment, so applicants should check the official page when the new application period begins.
